What is a Giclée?
Giclée (zhee-klay) canvas prints: Giclée is a French word and is a feminine noun that means a spray or spurt of liquid. High quality ink-jet printers actually “spray” ink onto various substrates. It has become an industry name in the art world that means: museum quality art prints. Giclée prints are created using professional 8 to 12 color ink-jet printers that print directly onto the canvas with archival quality ink. This modern technology produces incredibly detailed fine art prints and provides the closest color match to an original piece of artwork that is available today. They are commonly found in museums and art galleries. |
